FIRE STATION TOURS

Fall Fest 2011 8

Firefighters are in service for the purpose of providing emergency response. Based on availability around emergency calls and other duties, they may also be able to conduct educational fire station tours.

We request one month of advance notice to set up a specific time and date for a group of six or more. Availability is limited and dependent on emergency calls. Requests are accepted by the Administration office at (719) 547-7337, or simply complete the form below and submit and someone will get back to you within a couple of business days.

Groups of five and fewer may stop by a neighborhood fire station and ask to speak to the company officer to request a tour. The officer will try to accommodate these requests whenever possible.

The best time to schedule a visit is between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm Monday through Saturday. Options for dates and times are necessarily limited by emergency response, mandatory drills, safety training, routine maintenance, meals, and pre-fire inspections.

Please choose which fire station you want to visit

Best day is Wednesday between 9 am and 5 pm. 45 minutes is typical length of tour.

PLEASE HELP US HELP YOU BY TAKING THE FOLLOWING ADVICE

  • Stay safe by being aware of the heavy equipment and apparatus around you.
  • Sturdy, low-heel shoes are a good choice.
  • Visitors are permitted only when firefighters are in quarters at the station.
  • Be aware that visits may be shortened or cancelled if unanticipated changes occur in the firefighters' schedule.
  • Groups with young children must insure an adequate number of adult chaperones.
  • If driving to the fire station, park vehicle so that it does not block the emergency response route of fire apparatus.
  • Visits may/will be abruptly ended if personnel must respond to an emergency!
